Music Monday is back! A song from my writing playlist

I’ve gotten super back in to writing since I read A Court of Frost and Starlight, my review was eaten by WordPress so that is currently a work in progress. Probably a good thing since most of it was nonsensical fangirling.

Today it is an ost from Darling in the FranXX.

I’ve been completely surprised by this anime that I originally started watching as a joke because of those mechs and the drivers. I’m not really a mech fan either, but the characters and the world building is amazing! The ost reminds me of the magic of the show and helps motivate my writing :3

What’s your current writing song? Link it in the comments below, or better yet make a post of your own and tag me so I can see what music you guys like to write to! 🙂

Even if you’re having a bad day that one song can make everything that bit better !

Music Monday- Songs from the writing playlist

Hey, so I haven’t read as much as I’d have liked last week, but Strange the Dreamer is getting really interesting now!

Anyway this is my song for today 🙂 I’m nearing the end of a first draft for something new and this song feels like it’s really building to that ending.

Music Monday – Songs from the writing playlist

Hey! I thought I’d try something new and create a tag! When I write I usually end up listening to the same song over and over again while writing certain scenes and this was today’s:

Wold Gone Mad by Bastille (You’ll want to skip to like 0:30 for the song to start).

Okay I think that is my back log of 2017 posts! Time to welcome in the new year (finally).

Christmas Book Haul of 2017 ! (just a bit late)

It’s only a bit late! I never have the time for anything at the moment and uni hasn’t even started yet. But I really wanted to do a pretty book haul picture! 🙂 Also this is my second Christmas book haul now !

IMG_2462

  1. The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman
  2. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green
  3. A Conjuring of Light by V. E. Schwab
  4. A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab
  5. Warcross by Marie Lu
  6. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

I’m so excited to read all of these! And I’ve already read a few since it took me so long to post this!

The Miranda Sings Award

Well it only took me three months to get around to doing this (s o r r y ) !

I was nominated by Confessions of a YA Reader for the Miranda Sings Award, so thanks :)!

da-rules1

Rules:

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List 7 things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

  1. I have a good imagination. I’m always thinking about ideas for stories and the like.
  2. I wrote a novel! Haha, I had to fit this in somewhere in this post. It’s called The Gem Experiments and is free for the rest of today. Make my dreams come true. In all seriousness I am proud I managed to finish this and pluck up the courage to then put it out for people to see.
  3. Odd one I’ve said before: I like the colour of my hair. It goes with a lot of clothes and I can’t bring myself to dye it even though I really want to try purple some day!
  4. I am somehow managing to keep up two jobs, studying for a master’s degree and writing stories without falling on my face.
  5. I did the China.
  6. I am really competitive.
  7. I can daydream at almost any time, place or event.

I found this really hard to do, which was part of the reason why I put it off.  And so I shall nominate the first people I see on my dashboard, if you have already done this, or don’t want to that’s fine. It seems like a positive way to start off 2018! Happy new year guys!

Kathy @ Books and Munches

Sarah Lockwood @ The Critiquing Chemist

Icebreaker694

Kristi @ YA & Wine

Howlin Books

Mari @ Story and Somnomancy

However, I’m also a bit too lazy….so that’s enough nominations from me. However, if you want to try this consider yourself nominated! Start off 2018 with a positive reminder about why you’re great! ❤

Throne of Glass Book Tag

Hey, so I’m ill and I decided to do the thing I always do when I’m ill. Hunt for awesome book tags because maybe I actually do like sorting things (this is a shocking revelation for myself). And because I miss awesome Maas books that aren’t Tower of Dawn, yes I still haven’t finished it yet. And now I’m going to commemorate the awesome characters in her books by doing this tag!

This book tag was created by Hannah @ soobsessedwith and Alexa @ alexalovesbooks.

LYSANDRA | A BOOK WITH A COVER CHANGE YOU LOVED

Image result for I'll Give you the sun

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

There just aren’t enough yellow books in the world, it makes rainbow shelves a real struggle.

ABRAXOS | A BOOK THAT’S BETTER ON THE INSIDE THAN IT LOOKS ON THE OUTSIDE

Image result for now i rise

This question makes realise how vain I’ve become with books as of late, I’m actually struggling to think of an ugly book cover this year. Either that or people have been stepping up their book cover game. OH WAIT. I lie. The US cover is awesome but the one for the UK makes me said. Now I Rise by Kiersten White. the story is amazing though and so is the cover if you’re in the US (I’m not really a put a person on the front cover sort of person).

ERILEA | A SERIES WITH GREAT WORLD-BUILDING

Image result for a darker shade of magic

A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab. I still need to read the rest of the series and I definitely want too.

RIFTHOLD | A BOOK THAT COMBINES GENRES

Image result for six of crowsSix of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. It’s crime and fantasy I’d say. Honestly if this book didn’t fit so well in to this category I would also give it flipping great world building.

KALTAIN ROMPIER | A BOOK WITH AN UNEXPECTED TWIST

What was the last twist I wasn’t expecting… not to sound like an ass or anything by saying that but I probably spend more of my time speculating than reading (questionably sad). And I mean like a good twist, not a twist that made me want to throw the book against the wall twist. And so I’m going to leave this blank instead of wondering on what to put here.

ASSASSIN’S KEEP | A BOOK WITH AN UNRELIABLE NARRATOR

Image result for when we collidedI feel like it’s the thing at the moment to hide half the story to the reader until the most awesome of moments to do the big reveal. Not thinking of any awesome Celeana Aelin Ashyriver Sardothein Galanthynius at all (don’t kill me over any typos there please). It’s also not a bad thing that books do this, who wants to hear the whole methodical plan laid out? Not me. No, really, I don’t. I’m going to nominate half a book, mainly Vivvy from When We Collided by Emery Lord.

ASTERIN BLACKBEAK | A BOOK THAT’S GOT SQUAD GOALS

Image result for Alexandra bracken the darkest mindsThis one made me laugh so much. SQUAD GOALS. I’m going to say The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken because they were all such a good team.

TERRASEN | A BOOK THAT FEELS LIKE HOME

Image result for city of bones cassandra clare(Cant say what this book tag is based on that’s just wrong somehow). City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. It’s my other go to book when I need something comforting, I’m ashamed I forgot for a moment.

AELIN ASHRYVER GALATHYNIUS | A BOOK WITH THE POWER TO DESTROY YOU

Image result for one day david nicholls

One Day by David Nicholls. The movie destroys me the book destroys me. I’m just tears every time, but I love it too much.

MANON BLACKBEAK | A BOOK THAT INTIMIDATED YOU

Image result for the hobbitThe Hobbit by the Tolkien. I’ve never really finished this book or read the rest of the Lord of the Rings series because they do just intimidate me. They’re so revered I’m afraid I won’t love them and you know spoilers are everywhere.

ROWAN WHITEHORN | A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU SWOON

Image result for acomafTO HELL WITH IT I’M CHEATING. It’s not the TOG series so it’s okay, right? A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. Rhysand, enough said.

FLEETFOOT | A BOOK THAT YOU RECEIVED AS A GIFT

Image result for miss peregrine's home for peculiar children short stories

Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs. I got this from a friend for Christmas last year. Admittedly,  my Christmas presents are mainly books but from my TBR list, so I’m nominating this because it’s a surprise.

EYE OF ELENA | A BOOK YOU FOUND RIGHT WHEN YOU NEEDED IT

IMG_1865We Are Okay by Nina Lecour. I hit in China where I was miserable and I felt this book alleviated that a little. The story had little to nothing to do with my situation but I really connected with the story at the time.

Hey, I hope you enjoyed this tag even though I did it totally for my own satisfaction. Sorry, not sorry. This tag really reminded me of how many books I need to re-read that also all happen to be in my parents house and probably in their attic. Image result for crying emoji
